The Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth is still on lockdown after a suspicious package was found that the base is referring to as a bomb threat.
The package was identified at the main gate of the base around 9:25 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release.
Naval security forces plus military and police explosive-disposal teams have responded.
“Out an abundance of caution, the installation is locked down until further notice,” according to the release. “This precaution is for the safety of installation personnel and the surrounding local community.”
Sirens could be heard going off at the base, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reports.
