25-year-old shot while on the phone with her father, US

A 25-year-old US woman, Aaren O’Connor, died when a stray bullet hit her in the head while she was on the phone with her father.

She was sitting in her car outside her apartment complex in Chicago, Illinois when she was hit on Friday.

She did not immediately die, but reports say she repeatedly told her father: “my head hurts”.

Her father David told CBS Chicago:”I didn’t realise at the time but I was just having the last conversation with my daughter.”


“Every few moments she said, ‘My head hurts. My head hurts.”

She was found in her car unconscious after her boyfriend called her roommate to check up on her. O’Connor was then taken to hospital, where she died two days later.

A fund has been opened in honour of the 25-year-old, the money goes towards a scholarship for young people at risk in Chicago.

“It gives her life meaning, and I so appreciate it,” Mr O’Connor said.
